SeaDoo Crankshaft Bearing Failure.
Bearing Retainer Failure
We receive a lot of running and damaged Watercraft with this issue. One of the warning signs of crank bearing failure = The bearing retainer becomes dislodged or fails. When the bearing retainer fails it allows the roller bearings to not be spaced equally in the housing. The ball bearings will spin while the engine is running and after the engine stops the bearings fall to the bottom of the cage. One of the warning signs of this crank bearing failure is a rolling sound or the sound of bearings clanking in the engine.
